Re: The FEEEL between rod/cartridge and compression springs.
So the SBs worked on one ski but not another for you. Are the coombacks bigger than the Gs? If so I still think it's possible the 180s are too big for Woods. The G3s are 182s, and the Coombacks, even though labeled as 188cm, were really closer to 192cm as K2s tend to be a little longer per a given ...

Nice work! I admire your DIY courage.
How does cutting out the toe area impact skiing? You're using tech AT bindings, right?

They also state that Scarpa have confirmed that they a working on a new touring oriented light-weight tele boot. And that Scarpa may show a prototype of it this year! That is exciting news. I know quite a few people who have been longing for such a boot. Something like the Maestrale or F1 (in terms...

Re: The FEEEL between rod/cartridge and compression springs.
I had them on a 188cm pair of Coombacks and we'll just say it wasn't the best combo. Have you ever skied the SBs on another ski? Yep. I had them on some G3 Tickets for a while before I traded them for a pair of SBx2s. I enjoyed them a lot, oddly, skiing groomers and bumps at resorts. Nice neutral-i...

Re: "The Bleeding Edge" of boot progress...
And do I really think tech toes are good idea? No... they look like the most flimsy, fiddly mech I've ever seen I've tried to have that conversation with people who ski Meidjos.... Dynafit toes were NOT designed to take the forces generated by a tele turn. Tour good, yes. Inspire confidence for tel...

Not sure who has seen this yet....

I guess it is something that someone is thinking of tele skiers, just not the Turn.

Re: The FEEEL between rod/cartridge and compression springs.
I took the Vectors/SB in the pow the other day and I just gave up and paralleled. I work more at it. I really thinks it's the bindings and my technique. There's obviously nothing wrong with the bindings, just me and how I'm approaching them. For what it is worth, I think the normal red switchbacks ...

Re: The FEEEL between rod/cartridge and compression springs.
How big/small are you? The 180 Vector isn't a terribly "big" ski when you think about it with the rocker, so I don't think that is your problem.... I've skied some pretty big skis with soft bindings (the same Switchbacks) and never felt like my boot wasn't flexing, at least not due to ski length. My...

Re: Mounting Location for Telemark Skis
K2 always recommended pin line on chord center for their tele's. And they all skied (and ski) perfectly for me. However... all my experience has been skiing pre-rockered skis. Back when there existed skis labeled "tele." I also believe none of those had rocker. The rocker makes a big impact on how ...

Re: Mounting Location for Telemark Skis
That is the point where you try to find the K2 manual and look up the mount point.GLB wrote:If the Skis don't have a mark where would you mark it?
