Re: Light plastic telemark boot
My Dynafit TLT5 arrived yesterday. I wear 28.5 and found that this mondo size is different from Scarpa to Dynafit. Dynafit is much tighter. However they are quite a piece of engineering compared to Scarpa T4. The difference in weight is almost a half of kilo :) I'm planning to buy the dynafit toe pi...

Re: Light plastic telemark boot
I don't know what to say... they're all so expensive and the TLT binding is not that durable either. I found some cheap second hand Dynafit TLT5 ($50) boots. I still need to find some cheap second hand TLT bindings but for that I need to constantly scan the market throughout the year. I have to test...

However... the free heel is very important to me and I'm skiing parallel style.

I wear 28.5
I'll switch to AT in time. The offering is far wider and the boots are so much lighter not to mention so many other advantages. The only thing that stops me it's the money.

Light plastic telemark boot
Is there any chance the producers will ever come up with a light plastic telemark boot, around 1 kg? ... to also fit the 3-pin binding
Anyone from Scarpa reading this?

I'm interested in the Alaska 75. I wear 44 and actually own some other Alaska boot that fits me perfectly at this size.

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
Highest point 2300 meters; get there in 4 hours non-stop and back in 2; hide skis in the forest then come back until no more snow available  Last Friday was a typical winter day on the mountain, windy and foggy with still a lot of snow above 1500 m. After skiing down it cleared but for me it wa...

Re: 3-pin limit
I cannot believe how fate can change in an instance. The broken ski has been replaced with smt. incredible(and cheap also): Volkl Mantra 2012 184 (130-96-115) (1.2 kg with Voile 3 pin) The skis were practically lying abandoned in some truck with no bindings. I bought them just because of the price. ...

Re: Free pivot vs. 3-pins with low boots?
No. I mean the other way around. With free pivot of course you can kick turn.connyro wrote:
IF I understand you correctly, you're saying that when climbing on steep slopes you can't kick-turn or switchback/change direction due to the free pivot?

Re: "The Bleeding Edge" of boot progress...
The irony is that I bought Scarpa T4 with the intention to wipe the duckbill off and use them as regular AT boots. Then came the idea of buying that cheap Voile 3 pin to see how it goes. From there it was the start of a madness
