Re: Madshus Eon + Voile 3 pin cable + Scarpa T2 (old blue ones) = Good Idea? Where to mount?
@montrealer Cool! Thank you for the update! What binding did you mount? That Transnordic boot is quite the boot- a lot more suppport/leverage than the Alaska. I had that boot briefly, but it was too hard on my foot. Cool that it works for you! Mounted the Voile 3pin cable as planned, just the boots...

Re: Madshus Eon + Voile 3 pin cable + Scarpa T2 (old blue ones) = Good Idea? Where to mount?
Update: Last weekend I went XC skiing at one of my favourite spots about an hour away from home. Along the way I realized I'd forgotten to bring my wax kit, so I stopped at a nearby shop to pick up some wax. And what do you know, they had 2 pairs of Fischer Transnordic 75s, in my size, and on sale! ...

Yep I realize it’s too much boot, and yeah I’ve been looking for a pair of lighter ones but they’re hard to come by. I wouldn’t say I’m used to touring with them, more doing up / down laps. For more rolling terrain I’d take Alaskas + Nansens any day.
Thanks for the dowel idea!

Madshus Eon + Voile 3 pin cable + Scarpa T2 (old blue ones) = Good Idea? Where to mount?
I have a pair of fishscale Madshus Eon 185s mounted with NNN BC Magnums that I've been using with Alpina Alaskas, mostly for XCD and XC backcountry purposes. A couple years back I got a pair of Asnes Nansen Waxables that have pretty much replaced the Eons for XCBC and mostly for XCD as well. My heav...

Re: Interview Subjet for Article on XCD
Hey, If this happens I'd love to talk to ya! Briefly: Grew up alpine skiing in the Laurentians but stopped in my early 20s due mostly to the cost of alpine gear / lift tickets and boredom with the hills around here. In my early 30s I fell in love with XC and was spent a few years exploring the hundr...

Full length skins for Nansens?
I'm looking for a set of full length skins to supplement the kicker skins for longer/steeper climbs. I was about to order some G3 skins but realized 1) The attachment system they use (2 metal clips) doesn't work for skinnier tips 2) If possible I'd like to avoid buying a pair of 100mm+ skins and the...

Re: Waxless on Ski Resort Trails?
I’ve done this. It can be fun if the conditions are perfect but as Nick bc says you’ll really feel how light the skis are if the snow is hard and there’s ice. I guess it also depends what kind of boots and bindings you plan to use. I did it with nnnbc and alaskas so it was a matter of doing perfectl...

Re: Light & agile tele: SB with the new transnordic leather?
Fellow teleturners, Greetings from an OG of backcountry Norway. Virgin post here, hoping for some expert advice and discussion. I'm currently considering a light, agile & nimble tele rig for touring. Use case is touring in mountains and alpine terrain, steep but not avalanche steep (max ~30°): Henc...

Oh man I’m jealous. That looks amazing. My season ended 2 months ago but I finally put together a season edit. I watch it using these warm humid months.
