Re: Excursion 88 vs. Ingstad vs. transnordic 82

Hello Christian, I own and have many kms/hrs on all the skis you are considering. You speak of "looking for slightly wider XC skis to ensure decent float in softer snow conditions", but also want a ski that performs on "icy surfaces"- In my experience none of the currently available "wide" (i.e. 68m...

Re: We've lost a telemark legend

Sad to learn of Paul Parker's passing - Didn't have any personal connection to him, but his book has been a continuous resource- I not only retread it regularly- But I often have thoughts and or experiences that trigger a deeper insight into Paul's mindset and instructions. Paul Parker's mindsets an...

Re: Asnes Storetind- mounting

Yes- Asnes is still recommending balance point on the Rabb 68 for a Nordic touring binding (75mm/NNNBC/XP)-
they do have a boot-center mark though for a downhill binding-boot mount.

Re: Does nordic camber make a difference in deep snow?

I agree- "Nordic" camber- and particularly full-on double camber not only give zero XC advantage in deep soft snow- in my experience a stiff highly camber ski is a liability in truly deep soft snow→ one simply drives the shovel and tail into the snow- without compressing the camber underfoot→ no gri...

Re: Short, waxable ski recommendation

So, I went ahead with the Admundsen 187's. Very cool! Let us know how you make out with this ski! Thinking I should have gone a size higher now that they are here. I expect the stiffer boot/binding and softer camber is going to do a lot for control even without going so short. Curious- do you find ...

Re: Åsnes NOSI 76 Ski Review

Ah- so the Nosi 76X has a track groove? Cool.

Request to Asnes→ If this is now a Nordic touring ski- please switch from the Access Skin insert to the Skin-Lock/X-skin insert so that we can use are standard kicker skins with it.

Re: Fischer SBound 88

Unlike the S-Bound 98/Boundless (which has been tweaked back and forth with respect to camber-flex)- all of the S-Bound/Excursion 88s I have handled and tested have been identical with respect to camber and stiffness (the old "Outbound" ski that it is based on did not have Nordic rocker in the shove...

Re: Åsnes NOSI 76 Ski Review

If I interpret the reply that Theme received from Asnes correctly- the "new " Nosi 76 Xplore is the same as the Nosi 76?
