Re: Full camber vs rocker/camber
Of course, being fair to the earn-it crowd, nothing gets the heart going faster than skinning up steeps..Well, trying to do the same with grip wax or scales will too as you flail and slide back 2 steps for ever single trudge forward   In any case, if you want cardio and overall fitness, sl...

Re: Full camber vs rocker/camber
Interesting you should say that. Anecdotal. I don't have an age axe to grind. I do see all sorts of athletic stuff going on twin tips, but a lot of it is just flailing and outta control. People ski with multiple motivations..exercise, being outdoors, meeting up with ski friends, seeing new places o...

Re: Full camber vs rocker/camber
Oldest skis ever found.
No shortage of rocker and splay!!
Rocker is fundamental to skis irrespective of marketing gimmicks.

Re: Full camber vs rocker/camber
Full rocker means 0 camber by definition. Where you have one, you don't have the other. So as you decrease rocker you would have: Partial rocker means partial camber 0 rocker means full camber? :ugeek: Partial rocker could mean 0 camber/flat, single camber, camber+ , double camber..a contiuum from ...

Re: Full camber vs rocker/camber
Sure. Most of what you say is true @MonomarkMark. But not always. That’s the rub. Like camber and pressure (true) or pressure and digging a tip in (not true if loosely controlled, crud etc.). Agree on full rocker etc. Not sure if any or all of the definitions are “universally applicable” by manufac...

Re: Full camber vs rocker/camber
This was informative @MonomarkMark , thanks. When figuring the real world effects of a ski design on performance, you would want to consider rocker in conjunction with splay, correct? Hi Wabene, Most folks are going to look at the splay as an indication of rocker, which is understandable but not ex...

Re: What boots to buy??
If your toes are squished, and your toenails come off, it could be a sign that your boots are too tight or the soles have worn out. The Scarpa T4 boots can be quite stiff initially, but they may loosen up over time. As for compatibility with your Fischer 88 S-Bound skis, the Scarpa T4 boots should ...

Re: Full camber vs rocker/camber
You’re not wrong by any stretch… but your approach isn’t something that is universally accepted or advertised. So a person could go around the world and visit every ski shop with a measuring tape in hand… and be no further ahead in a discussion of this type. Neither camber nor rocker (or r-c-r) are...

Re: Full camber vs rocker/camber
Yea, he was asking about "full camber" vs rocker-camber-rocker and I told him was full camber was a term without meaning which involved explaining how camber and rocker are related. And then he asked me a couple other questions. In any case, in order to understand camber or rocker it helps to be abl...
