Re: Alpina nnn-bc boots

I loged a lot of in track miles last year in my new Alaskas. Also had a lot of downhill fun on E99s too. So comfy but make good turning power too without a bunch of stiffness. Love these things couldn't see needing a "lighter" boot for me. Oh and warm!

Re: Hammerhead Releasing

Something's up because I've only had a HH release once in all the years I've skied them. Thank god it did or I'm sure I would have broke my leg. Check the throw against the old one, Mabey its fulcrum point is in a different spot?

Re: The Wood Ski Thread

I was thinking of making some shorter ones like Hoks and doing a climbing skin insert on the base. I just waxed up the polyurethanes bottoms and they skied really well with Targas.I don't think I'd want to do any drops on them though.

Re: The Wood Ski Thread

Boiled them for an hour on the BBQ then used my old heavy Suburban and a homade form to shape the tips. Just pine boards shaped with bandsaw and a planer.

I made these big pow skis. No edges or bases skied once so far in deep blower and rocked. Just pine and automotive polyurethane clear.

Re: Length for old e99s

I have those same skis with black sidewalls. 2 pair actually 195s and 215s. there like a camber and a half and grip and turn pretty easy for a long ski. They wax nice and are fast in the track. Love the edges for bush sking.

Re: Cargo Box Advice

Try the auto wreckers. When people write off cars they rarely roll and ski boxes almost always never get damaged or claimed by there owners in a insurance settlement. I spot them laying around or still on the roofs of cars at the wreckers often and can be had for $50.00. I mount mine useing old alpi...
