Re: Backpack for longer tours?

Higgs Boson Ski Pack-Alpine Luddites: It doesn't have any a lot in fancy pockets. I don't even use it for its designed purpose, it took over a year to get! It's bombproof, hold stuff and beautiful.

Re: I want a ski for leathers at the resort

Touring or vintage is sounding like the option…80-85 underfoot is a lot of ski to edge with a soft boot? I’ve tried on something like 105 and it was a super painfulI experience in leathers. I would think you’d want to avoid a really stiff ski, just too much to drive. A softer, light slalom ski!! Rac...

I want a ski for leathers at the resort

I'm in Michigan and I like to keep our small hills interesting. I have a pair of scaled Madshus Panorama 68's, Rotte Super Tele binding. Boots: Alico leathers, Super Comps and T4s all do a good job with that ski. Leathers are fun for the 210's Tua's as well. What I want is a skinnier ski for the res...

Re: Gear review: Let's Lurk!

Any stick will work! I personally like a detachable lurk due to ski lifts. An 8’+ stick is awkward in a lift line or getting on a lift, transporting, and some resorts my say no to that long pole.

Re: Gear review: Let's Lurk!

How durable? Time will tell, but carbon fiber is pretty badass stuff. I ski with mine at a Midwest resort pretty dang hard. I have 15-20 days on it and still looks good! It's stiff like steel and you can carve with all of your weight into it with no problems. Light enough to reach one handed. I'm 6'...

Re: Gear review: Let's Lurk!

Awesome write up! I have an Altai Tiak, same thoughts. Good for the BC stuff. I managed to order a San Juan Stick last fall/winter too. But the week it finally came I created a carbon fiber detachable lurk! Soon to have a few more made. I used survey reflector poles, one end has threads to add a 2”i...

Re: Rottefella 75mm with cable binding- riser or no riser?

I went with risers for just because and other reasons already said on a Madshuss Panorama M68. I’ve only meadow skipped this season in leathers. I’m excited to add the cables. T4’s should benefit from the risers too.
