Re: Asnes gamme vs transnordic 66

I have both the TN 66 waxless and the Gamme 54BC. After skiing and comparing both under the same ski conditions the clear WINNER is the Asnes Gamme. Man what a ski! Absolutely delightful! The kick and glide is outstanding when I get the wax is right for the snow conditions. The 30 mm Mohair skins wo...

Re: Asnes Gamme 54 or Amundsen

Asnes Gamme 210's have arrived, thanks to Inspiredcapers. The Gammes are all waxed up with almost no place to go. We had enough snow today to allow me to do some practice skiing in my backyard. The glide was outstanding of course, grip improved with a warmer grip wax. Based on this limited test the ...

Re: Asnes Gamme 54 or Amundsen

My suggestion is to weigh gear. Doing it individually invites error… weight scale errors are magnified at the low and high end. Weigh self in skivvies (base weight). Then wear gear… base, mid, outer layer, socks, boots, gloves, ski pants, gaiters, beanie. Add poles, helmet, goggles. Record results....

Re: Asnes Gamme 54 or Amundsen

@YooperXC at 182 pounds and carrying a daypack, water, layers and mittens etc, while on my 200 cm Gammes, I do often think about the 210. I have the earlier model Green Man ski and I did get it used. It does not have nearly even close to the camber of my brand new TN 66 Crown 205's. The TN66 appear...

Re: Asnes Gamme 54 or Amundsen

It looks like the Gamme will be the right choice to replace my E99's when the time comes. Sport Albert has your Gamme in stock. https://www.sportalbert.de/åsnes-backcountry-fjellski-gamme-54_AS542026200_p.dpage This is where I ordered mine from last year. Couldn’t find them anywhere else. Been a gre...

Asnes Gamme 54 or Amundsen

I currently have a pair of used Fischer E99 wax base skis that I absolutely enjoy skiing. In fact I used this ski last season way more than my other skis in my quiver (Ingstad 205, Excursion 88 199, and TN 66 205 waxless). The Ingstad is a fun, fast (scary at times) ski that is used in certain condi...

Re: Åsnes Gamme

Reading all of the praise for the Gamme makes me want a pair. My E99 tours are fast, fun, and real joy to ski. I will have to buy a pair Gammes if they are superior to the E99, I cannot seem to find the Game in 210 cm anywhere. Asnes did confirm via email that the Gammes are still in production, bu...

Re: Descending Narrow Trails--Skeats?

Good timing on this subject. Skied a nice easy groomed trail to my nearby town the other day and took a very nicely groomed snow bike trail on the return route. I did encounter a couple of steep, narrow trails with some downhill with a steep dropoff on a turn. The first was too technical for me on m...
