Agreed. I spent some time clipping them in and out and moving the boot trying to see if something was wrong. Everything looks right with the binding. It’s crazy this happened so quickly.

Re: Alfa Skaget Xplore boot disintegrate
This happened after two uses and a total of maybe 17 miles. 17 miles? That kind of damage for a couple day's use just doesn't seem possible. Please post back after you have skied your new Skagets a few times. Is it possible that you might have stepped into a petroleum product spill at a gas station...

Re: Alfa Skaget Xplore boot disintegrate
Both boots have the same damage. I had the same thought you did but I can’t see anything out of sorts on the binding that would chew it apart like this.JohnSKepler wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 11:32 amWas this both boots or just one? Looks like something was rubbing or chewing away at the sole under the pins.

Alfa Skaget Xplore boot disintegrate
Has anyone else seen this happen? Luckily, REI is replacing them without any hassle. I have emailed Alfa directly, but they have yet to respond. This happened after two uses and a total of maybe 17 miles.

Plastic Boot for Xplore?
When the Xplore binding was initially released, I found myself both excited and somewhat disheartened. I am someone who enjoys a mix of cross-country downhill (xcD) adventures, downhill telemark skiing, and alpine tech tours. I have a deep appreciation for my tech setup, especially on those big days...

Re: Madshus Panorama M78?
The 80mm wide (at the tip), and ~60mm underfoot skis are much easier to turn with leather boots on hardpack. There are a whole bunch of different skis in this category, including the Fischer Traverse 78 (great grip), the Asnes Nansen (super stable), the Asnes Ingstad (great float in deep snow), the...

Madshus Panorama M78?
How are people liking the Madshus Panorama M78? I currently have an XCD setup that is great for rolling terrain and wide open hills - Fischer BC 100's, Rottefella NNN BC Magnum Bindings, and Alpina Alaska boots. I also have a dedicated downhill setup - DPS's (with skins), G3 Targas, and three buckle...
