Re: PSA:dirt cheap Falketind xplore in Norway
So, FTX on boilerplate anyone? I skied 1rst generation FT on full bore boiler plate. That ski was soft, the tips and tails flopped around in challenging conditions. However the edges were solid underfoot. Solid underfoot wasn’t enough to translate to control with tips and tails being beaten a...

I’m thinking 21st century, melted & refrozen snow courtesy of Royal Dutch Shell & co. Edit: still wondering! Pretty sure refrozen snow isn't anything new. Google says the Inuit word for it is Kripya , so indigenous Americans knew what it was long before the white man landed in Vinland. Scandinavian...

Haha I’ll give you your laugh..! I’m thinking 21st century, melted & refrozen snow courtesy of Royal Dutch Shell & co. E...

Re: X-Skins Knackered after less 70km!!!
Did you trim the skins to your heel? If they are wearing out behind your heel, that is the primary glide zone of your ski and you don't want any them there anyway. Yeah this. Also, you should wax your skins. Give them a good rubbing with a glide wax. Some go against the grain, i only go with. Addit...

Re: Xplore & the advantages of stiff stole for XC
What is your experience on the downhill support of the Lundhags Guide vs Expedition? At the moment, I personally feel like my Guide BC would not only feel a bit more balanced, but more supportive with a higher top... I believe the Expedition version does what an extra buckle would do to a 2-buckle ...

Re: Xplore & the advantages of stiff stole for XC
I am also not in a rush to switch to XP on my Combat Nato ski. I want long-term durability-reliability reports on XP before I would switch to XP on my "expedition"-wilderness skis. I can see this. Interesingly, last week I spoke to a nordic skier who tours extensively with pulks and dogs, and he ac...
