Re: Viability of Waxable Skis
The Sbound 98's will drag in comparison to the TN66's because they aren't a XC ski.

Re: old wool pants for skiing
Why not just wear pants made from a highly breathable soft-shell stretch fabric like Schoeller and wear a wool base layer? Works for me on two week tours, no odors. Haglofs, Norrona, ArcTerryx, others, all make good ones for ski touring. I ski in a pair like that with fleece lining and should get a...

Re: Viability of Waxable Skis
I have never had a good time with kicker skins or klister. I'm not saying that you couldn't, but I wouldn't want my skiing to be limited to that. Its a weird way to approach things in 2024, and your location it makes no sense at all.

Re: Toe bang, really want to make boots work.
I've got Excursions with the stock (non moldable) liners. What does your foot actually measure (like on a Bannock device) for a street shoe? Meanwhile sounds like the preesure might be form the place where the tongue is sewn to the body of the liner, and there's that extra piece of elastin sewn ove...

Re: Toe bang, really want to make boots work.
So the injury has become a medium term, subtle arhtritic feeling behind both toes. Really surprised as they weren't extremely uncomfortable and I had no warning. That is why I didn't follow up or try to use them. It could be that I'm a 27.0 excursion shell also but thats unexpected because I thought...

Re: Toe bang, really want to make boots work.
I knew the advice to see a bootfitter would arise. Its just not convenient at this place and time. If the boots do not fill an area, molding will not help. Heating a liner allows a liner to fit better by conforming to foot. The liner does not expand. I’ve purchased two new liners from Intuition and ...

Toe bang, really want to make boots work.
I had a little pain in my big toe sockets (first joint, technically the feet) after the last time with Excursions. It wasn't a lot, but it was the sort of deep sensation that causes me concern. These boots opened me up to a new type of skiing, and I really want to get back in them. I have tried on a...

Re: New Super Tele's and full thickness soles?
Ski Marchs in EU44. I can close the bail to the middle position, too. If folks here use both, Ski Marchs and Alaskas, they could give you information about sole thickness. The ST with cables are an awesome binding! My experience is different. I mounted some STs because they were 50% off. Ski marche...

Re: Front skins with kicker skins instead of full length... anyone tried this?
@John Dee Are you referring to a racing skin? example: https://www.pomoca.com/skins/014-race-pro-2-0 Nope. I went to a shop in 2022 for climbing skins, and one of the options was 3/4 front to back. I don't recall much else except they were dark orange color, and that they were a fairly common skin ...
