Re: Asnes finally offering FTX, Rabb and Nosi with scales
They must be special "ski-weighing" scales? And just thrown in for free?

Re: Scarpa T3 Fit Question
I'm far from a boot fitter, but I'll offer a few words especially as nobody else has chimed in yet. An inch from heel to back of boot doesn't seem way off. If recall, the rule of "thumb" was two fingers side-by-side (even if squished a little). Of course, fingers vary; mine get to about an inch and ...

Re: XCD skis on hardpack at the resort
Sometimes you just need a lift so you can practice descending with telemark turns over and over again. I can only climb so much and my goal was repetition with tele turns to get better. You may already know this, but I thought I might mention it having done the same (i.e., resorted to practice tele...

Re: Best Telemark Skis for Backcountry Adventures?
Backcountry skiing can mean different things and therefore different skis.
Are you talking about skin up ski down backcountry skiing or longish tours in varied terrain with shorter sections of up and down? Or something else? This clarification should get you more helpful responses.

Low angle promoted on social media
Today, onX is promoting low angle terrain -- preferred for its solitude.
And with tech support to help you find it.
I hope the crowds don't show up at my secret spots!
Semi-rant over. Life goes on (for now).

Re: Tele --> AT
As has been said, no need to go AT to make parallel turns. I was out today on Voile V6 BC and Scarpa T3 (Voile 3-pin cable bindings) and my skis were parallel for all turns. Terrain was fairly mellow, got about 6-8 turns in a couple of different times. (My wife on similar gear did all tele turns.) I...

But what about the condition of those pins? Seems very odd.

Re: marquette ski/shoe article from Outside magazine
Marquette: 140 long; 150-130-140 (seriously wider than the Hok).
Hok: 125/145 long; 124-110-122.
Due to it's skin, Hok probably climbs better (a bit easier to find a good line), but is less durable.
Anyone seen both in action on the down?

Re: Leather 3-pin for SB112?
... I mounted my Rotte cable on a Voile 10 mm riser, allowing the heel throw to latch onto the heel piece for easy transitions. I see that Rotte makes a 10mm riser for their ST; any reason you went with Voile? Any reason not to go with the Rotte riser? Edited to add link to the Rotte 10mm ST riser:...
