Re: Damage to ski bases - when to replace?
Alternative thought, you could probably have someome stone grind them and grind the fishscales right off while they're at it. Could probably have bases that looked new and have them transformed into waxable skis.

Re: What type of X - Skin?
If your ski's don't have a pattern then you didn't receive the waxless model.
Any ski can be waxed.

Does Rotobrush Length Need to Match Handle Length?
I'm wondering if the length of a RotoBrush needs to or benefits from matching the length of the RotoBrush handle? I assume I can't use a 140mm brush on a 100mm handle, but is there a downside to using a 100mm brush on a 140mm handle? Would I need to add spacers or anything to keep it snugged up? Can...

Peltonen Metsa Step (Finnish Forest Ski) assuming you're on flat terrain in a straight line.

Re: Last Year’s and this Year’s Grip Wax Experiments
What is everyone's experience apply Start Oslo? Can you just crayon on and cork it in? I know with Rex Powergrip Marathon (which I think is similar hardwax/klister mix) the instructions are: Apply heat to the wax with a heat gun or waxing iron Rub wax to ski base Apply heat and smooth with a cork or...

Swix PS vs HS Hard Wax (Iron In)
Maybe not the perfect place for this question but everyone here seems super knowledgeable and it's hard to find good wax reviews. I'm wondering if anyone has compared the swix PS line and the Swix HS line in testing. Are any of the HS waxes noticeably faster than PS waxes? If so which ones? I'd be l...

Ski Pole Length - BC Touring = Classic Groomed
Just wondering if ski poles for XCd (which I think is kinda the same as back country touring, anyways skiing on flat ungroomed surface), should be the same length as what I use for classic skiing on groomed trails.

Re: Last Year’s and this Year’s Grip Wax Experiments
If I can add to the discussion I’d like to note that the Start Oslo waxes have been fantastic in my recent experience. Definitely not a fast wax but super reliable kick in varied conditions so a perfect BC wax for me. I’ve been supplementing Rode and Swix kick waxes with the Blue or Purple Start Os...

Back Country Boots vs Skate Ski Boots for Flat BC Skiing
Thinking about a BC setup. It would just be for flat terrain, no hills (mainly across frozen lakes). Would be using classic technique. I've skied my skinny (race-y) skis on ungroomed trails before. In general they were fast but unstable (wobbly ankles kind of thing). This was using race-y classic bo...
