Re: Asnes Falketind 62 vs Falketind Xplore

Yes, the kick and glide is dramatically improved. That I can report. Acceptable for an XC ski on a consolidated base, and also very good in soft snow. It is also much more stabile in deep snow. Those are the only definitive statements I care to make currently. Thank you #fisheater If I understand c...

Asnes Falketind 62 vs Falketind Xplore

I bought last winter an FT62 (green) that I skied a few times with my Garmont Excursion boots. I loved the ability to downhill from this ski in terrain with a firm base but with fresh snow between 5 and 10cm. However, the performance of this ski off-piste for flat sections is not very interesting. T...

Re: Asnes FT62 - 180cm vs 188cm

@fisheater thank you. But I think about it ... You calculated this from your binding while I calculated it from the start of the riser. So basically I understand that your binding is closer to the notch in the skin than mine.

Re: Bindings: NNN BC vs 3 Pin for good turns?

I ski a 75mm binding without cable with a Garmont Excursion boot for an EON, Ingstad ski and an FT62 Asnes. The combination of a 75mm binding and a Garmont Excursion style plastic boot gives me all the comfort and flexibility I want while allowing me to achieve perfect lateral stiffness when skiing ...

Re: Bindings: NNN BC vs 3 Pin for good turns?

Also the Rottefella 75mm bindings really do hold the boots better - the pins are longer and the bindings are narrower so the sole fits precisely in them.

@dhdaines I have always used Voilé 75mm. So do you really think the Super Roteffella 75mm would perform better for my Garmont Excursion?

@Nitram Tocrut With a 10mm riser from Voilé, I think that's the maximum to be considered. I wouldn't go more than that.

Re: Asnes FT62 - 180cm vs 188cm

Axamer, my FT are mounted 3pin cable no riser. I ski them backcountry and on piste. I have taken the ski well beyond what the ski was designed for. No issues for me without a rise. I would not have a riser on my FT. I have never skied them with my T4 plastic boot, I never saw the need. That is just...

Re: Bindings: NNN BC vs 3 Pin for good turns?

Tiefschnee I have already owned an Époch from Madhus that I used to ski with a Garmont Excursion. Same thing with my Eon. I am literally sold on this boot with the 75mm binding. I really have a big attraction for telemark turns. I'm more of an off-piste telemark skier who does Nordic skiing than th...
