Re: Advice: Breidablikk vs Finnmark
Does anyone know if the Breidablikk is still available as 210 cm? I notice on Asnes' site, that 200 cm is the max listed length, but on some european retailer sites, I see 210 cm. varuste.net has "B-grade" Breidablikks available right now for $211, but only 190 cm and 200 cm. It's tempting, but I'm ...

Re: Advice: Breidablikk vs Finnmark
havuja , thanks! That's great info. That's a good point about the snow being too deep for the dog - perhaps if it's a depth that the dog could come with, the Finnmark would suffice and offer better efficiency. Can always get a Gamme in addition for icy/spring skiing without the dog. Maybe it's good...

Re: Advice: Breidablikk vs Finnmark
mca80 Feeder trails that are icy snowmobile hardpack are anywhere from 0.5-1 mi probably. It's not the worst, just something to consider. I'm currently thinking I'd like to get both the Breidablikk and then later a Gamme 54 BC - mostly because I like the descriptions of how well the Breidablikk bre...

Re: Advice: Breidablikk vs Finnmark
@corlay , thank you! Super helpful comparison of edge performance. I would imagine we ski in pretty similar conditions, as I'm also in central NY.

Re: Advice: Breidablikk vs Finnmark
Thanks for the replies! "Deep" snow for me would be ~10-12" of fresh fallen powder snow (or at least that's what I encountered this past week in NY). The trails I ski all have some mix of open grazing fields with rolling hills and also narrow trails through the woods also with some hills. So definit...

Advice: Breidablikk vs Finnmark
I currently have a set of Madshus M62 Panorama Intelligrip skis (I think same design as the Eon, but with the kicker skin attach point), and they are my only skis currently. Looking to diversify a bit. They're awful in deep snow - basically just inefficient snow shoes. So I need to wait after a fres...

Re: Dog Questions
I've been skiing a lot with my dog this season. Somewhat new to the sport, and currently only have one ski - the Madshus Panorama Intelligrip M62 (from this forum I gather this used to be called the Eon). My dog is an australian shepherd, and especially when I'm skiing with my partner, she tends to ...

FS: Madshus Panorama M62 (new) 195 cm
For sale: new, still in plastic Madshus Panorama M62 in 195 cm. Waxable with intelligrip system (skin not included). These are great skis - I bought them last year with NNN-BC bindings mounted for my boot size, but whoever installed them didn't drill one of the screw holes deep enough resulting in a...

Re: Kick Skins over Kick Wax
Well that is good info. I guess I may take them off then. They're new skis that have the Madshus "Inteligrip transition" system. I really liked their performance with the skin on, and likely won't bother with kick wax, at least for a while. I had just thought that repeatedly applying and removing th...
