I think I'd choose silvretta bindings and bring one boot for the weight and space savings.
Maybe someone will invent a duckbill add- on. Turn any hiking boot into a tele boot.

That's the dam at the Ashland mass reservoir. Good skiing when there is no base in the woods.
The skis are 165 and I normally ski 180. The rocker tip makes them easy to turn also.
