Re: Asnes skis for husband

@randoskier Is her husband's name David? If so, they used to be neighbors but moved a bit farther out.

@Wooderson. Thanks for the detailed advice! I think for him the 200cm sounds best. He's not a beginner but not advanced/expert either.

Re: Asnes skis for husband

@fisheater Oh nice on the coat! It's the only one I've found thats lasted. Went through a Ruffwear coat in one season but the Chilly Dogz made it 5 seasons before replacement!

Asnes skis for husband

Hi All, My husband has Asnes ski envy as i've been flying past him downhill on mine, weighing 70lbs less :D . I've been looking at the Nansen for him (he currently has waxless Fischer T78s) as the dimensions are similar. I have the comparable Cecile. He weighs 185 lbs which per Asnes recommended rec...

Re: Best setup for skiing old CO mining roads?

Not sure where you are located but I saw a new pair of T78s at the Breckenridge Nordic Center this weekend. Didn't look closely to see what size. I know they've sold many of the ones they had this season.

Re: Get a Grip; Asnes Waxless Ski Test Fail

Thanks for the additional feedback. I have the Sbound 98s in 169 and I have plenty of grip on them; they are just heavy and I reserve them for deeper snow. They were the first XC skis waxless skis I bought. The Asnes Cecile 170 should have worked. I am leaning towards thinking the Asnes scale patter...

Re: InReach

Where did you find yours on sale? I've had the old larger DeLorme (before Gramin acquired them) and the Bivy Blue (not a fan) but have had my eye on this mini. Thanks

Re: Ski area traffic

I live in Summit/Breck and MLK is definitely one of the busiest weekends there is! Most local don't ski at the resorts on the weekends for the most part. Sunday afternoons can be good on non-holiday weekends, with Tues-Thurs being better except for Christmas through New Years. With the increase in p...

Re: Advice needed from Toko wax users

Taking the advice to just cork some Blue (Toko Blue = Swix Green) worked like a charm and I had an amazing ski with it today. :D

Re: Advice needed from Toko wax users

Thanks everyone. I'll try corking some blue over the red and test it out in my yard. If no go, then I'll scrape in the warmth of the house then apply some blue. I have a couple of hours till I head to the trail to play around with it.
