Re: XCd recommendations: MN
I own a pair of Traverse 78s. My impression of them is that they break trail well when the snow is soft. The waxless pattern gives really good grip, and the glide is pretty good as well. It's nice to not have to deal with grip wax when it is above freezing, or there is fresh snow around zero. They a...

Re: Reconditioning kick surface on no-wax skis (Fischer SBound, Inbound Crown
You could try just using them as waxable skis. If the scales are so worn down that they have no grip, applying kick wax and removing it later shouldn't be too difficult.

Re: Klister?
Al, I had the exact same problem as you yesterday. My klister got worn off in about 10 minutes and I had absolutely no grip whatsoever. I tried re-applying it and letting it set up for 40 minutes and it still rubbed off immediately. I think the green base klister is something to try. I wonder if I c...

Re: Fast technical singletrack ski?
I like my Fischer Powerlight skis- they are 51 mm at the tip. I'm not as fast of a skier as you, so it is hard for me to judge whether the skis will be fast enough for your taste. I am often able to fly past other skiers on these skis though, and I'm in Norway where most of the people are frankly be...

Re: Fischer Powerlight Review
Thanks for the review, Im gonna keep my eyes open for a set of these. Im often on hard, frozen snow and ice, especially on skied out xc trails. I've been considering a set of e89s, dont see them too often though There are some other skis similar to the E89 which you could try to find. Åsnes makes t...

Re: Fischer Powerlight Review
First, Fischer appears to be removing skis from their website as they sell out, so you can't see what they have in their catalogue. Does anyone have a work-around for this? (fischer website = dumb) Second, I bought a pair of Powers (SAME dimensions, NO edges, NO "lite") last year on super sale over...

Re: Klister?
In Colorado, for trail and backcountry skiing, I generally only use Swix Universal Klister (K22) if I need to use klister. It works really well, in my experience; good kick and glide in mixed warm/refrozen icy granular and warm wet snow. I have very rarely ever felt the need to use a silver klister...

Klister?
Hi Everybody. I am new to using grip wax on skis, having used fishscales my whole life. I have been using the system advocated by lilcliffy and many others on this forum: ironing polar or green into the entire base, and then applying wax of the day to the glide zone. The system has worked well on da...

Re: Fischer Powerlight Review
Thanks for replying lilcliffy. I've been using your waxing system (ironing polar into the entire base and applying the wax of the day to the grip zone) up until now. It's been a good system so far, much simpler than ironing in separate base binders and glide waxes. How do you incorporate klister int...

Fischer Powerlight Review
Hi everybody. I am a longtime lurker on the forum, and have decided to finally make my first post, a review of the Fischer Powerlight ski. This is not a typical backcountry ski. Rather, it is a skinny track ski (51-46-49) with full metal edges. Obviously, they are useless off trail except in shallow...
