Re: They're Back

Looks like REI has some new stock of the Fischer Traverse 78 and the 88's. The photos show easy skin compatibility. https://www.rei.com/product/240841/fischer-excursion-88-crownskin-cross-country-skis. I wonder what the country of origin is? Looks like REI is back to their old game of not understan...

Re: XC(D?) skis for a big man

@RabbitEars Interesting take on the Kongsvold that I have been lurking for a while... I suspect you have the 200 cm? How do they compare for K&G with the Ingstad? Are they more directional then the Rabb on consolidated snow? Are they stiffer then the Ingstad so that they are less prone to bend in d...

Re: XC(D?) skis for a big man

I'm a big guy myself. The skis that have become my go to: Asnes Rabb 68 for powder conditions. I find it a little hard to control on consolidated snow or icy conditions. Asnes Ingstad was a ski that I grew to like. At first I found it hard to control because I was too heavy for it even at the longes...

Re: Asnes Rabb 68 over the Voile Objective BC w/Xplore

I have both the Rabb 68 and the Voile Objective BC. Both are mounted with Xplore. My experience is that these skis are not similar. I will try to keep this very succinct as others have already shared some good information. The Rabb is a very turny nordic ski that has some ability to track when kicki...

Re: Warmer Weather Waxing Advice

As the winter stretches out I find my initial waxing scheme isn't working as good on my Gamme and FTX62. I like the tip-to-tail polar wax with temperature specific wax underfoot. I've been using mostly Toko blue kick wax, underfoot with good results up to my last few outings. We're starting to get ...

Re: WTB: Big Boots (sizes 48/30.5) NNNBC or 75mm

I've got two pairs of big 75mm boots I'm looking to off load. Fischer Transnordic size 47 but feel bigger. And Alpina Montana 48.

Re: Rabb 68- NNNBC, 75mm-3pin, or Xplore?

@lilcliffy I'm looking forward to your review. I just had my first outing on my Rabb68 on Xplore and Alfa Skagit. So much fun! I don't regret returning the Voile Ultravectors in exchange for the Rabb. Very lightweight and turny with the added benefit of being able to kick and glide.

FS: (Salt Lake City UT/Steamboat Springs CO) Asnes Ingstad 205 Waxable NNNBC Manuals, Like New

Asnes Ingstad 205 Waxable NNNBC Manuals Included are. Boots not included. Would like to get $350. This ski was my introduction Waxable skis. I liked it so much that I bought 2 more pairs of Asnes Waxable skis the Kongsvold and Rabb 68. These other skis fit my needs better and I don't foresee using t...

Re: Rabb 68- NNNBC, 75mm-3pin, or Xplore?

I finally gave up on 3pin and converted to NNNBC last season. After spending a lot of money on several different pairs in the end none worked for me. I bought The Rabb this year and I’m having Neptune Mountaineering mount with xplore. I got the Alfa Skaget which feels VERY similar to the Alaska only...
