Re: Interview Subjet for Article on XCD

Hi all. Thanks for the thoughts and resources! 75mm won't become obsolete, I hope, but fgd135 has it correct about the magazine and its audience. I've only "pitched" the article, which means telling your editor an idea you'd like to pursue... up to them to assign it. I'll check back when I hear a ya...

Re: Interview Subjet for Article on XCD

Hi JB. Thanks for the input. A little bit of both. I ski both systems, with different skis, for different situations... I know there are plenty of folks (grew up with them!) that could crush a crazy Colorado cliff line in 90's leather 75mm hiking boots, let alone some mellow fields and logging roads...

Re: Interview Subjet for Article on XCD

Yes, lots of options lead to lots of questions! Thanks for your input. Here in central VT they sell it all, hence the confusion or at least not sureness about the varying options, especially without being able to demo the stuff before buying... Thanks.

Re: Interview Subjet for Article on XCD

Thanks Al and Fisheater... I agree why fuss over gear. From long experience with sports mags it's b/c they pay for the ads I suppose! I am newish to this whole XCD scene, coming from snowboarding where one board/binding/boot setup could get you pretty much anywhere, and now there's "NNBC," 75mm, Exp...

Interview Subjet for Article on XCD

Hey XCD folks! I'm looking for a potential interview candidate for an article I'm pitching Cross Country Ski magazine on XCD; kind of a "what the heck is XCD?!" look, with a focus on the gear, the approach, and a particular subject's perspective on this niche. Given the outlet, Cross Country Skier, ...

ISO used Scarpa T2 26.5 (I think...)

ISO used Scarpa T2's, in a 26.5. I say "I think," because I've been using my friend's old T2's which say 27.5 on the heel, but have a 270 liner, even though Scarpa's break on the 1/2 size. I am a 8.5 US street shoe, my Alpina Alaska's fit great in a 41 Euro, and these 27.5's are big (I think), even ...

Re: 2019 ALFA Guard Advance GTX M Boots Review

Hi Johnny and all. New to this forum, but have already found a trove of info... Particularly in my search for a new pair of boots! I am currently debating the Aplina Alaska BC vs the Alfa Guard Advance GTX reviewed here. My questions for the forum: 1) Sizing: The Alaska BC's fit me great in a 41. Sn...
