Re: Naval aviation porn (home movies)
Just taking a run down memory lane. I posted to this video as kayakutah :I flew the N in VF-126. What a great airplane! We would fight as adversaries and then go 1v1 guns only "in house". I wonder how we managed to crack those wing spars? It was great having a radar. In the A-4, we'd tune in the fig...

Re: Made my own skis…mounting advice?
When I mounted Outlaw X bindings on a pair of skis that had Meidjo holes in them, I took them to REI. They were kind enough to put their jig on my skis and marked them (free of charge). I took them home and mounted them. Maybe they's help you out. If nothing else, they'd be interested in seeing your...

Re: Made my own skis…mounting advice?
Wow, Nice job. I'd be inclined to put the boot center at about the narrowest part of the ski. That way, the pressure from your body weight would tend to flex the skis symmetrically. Since you made them, I think your ideas on mounting position would be superior to mine. Regular tools, drills, etc. wi...

Re: leg strength exercises
Regardless of the exercises, if you get pain right under the kneecap, I have a possible solution. I get 70-80 days a season in at the resort and in the past got quite a bit of pain right under the patella. Just sitting around, I discovered one kneecap didn't have much range of motion. For about a we...

Re: leg strength exercises
I tely in winter and mountain bike in summer. That takes care of stuff from the waist down. I really should do more upper body stuff. I run out of cardio (being old stinks) before I run out of strength. And I run out of leg strength before I run out of cardio. At my age I don't think there's a damn...

Re: 75mm binding too wide for my boot
Are you sure it's a 75mm and not at 79, which were around as late as the 1980's, and I'm pretty sure Villom made one. In any case, modifying the binding is, in all likelihood, not worth the trouble. Three pins can be had for little to nothing. I didn't know about the 79mm thing. Otherwise, vice gri...

Re: Help going NTN
Thanks for the thoughts! Sadly my massive 14 2W hobbit feet will not play nice with anything but the Crispi. The biggest size almost/or maybe actually doesn’t fit in length and width and I may still need them blown out by a fitter after the first few runs. I’m a pretty big guy, 230ish and they thou...

Re: Help going NTN
Going from what you're on (especially old Syner-G's, which I skied ages ago), to the Evo WC boots is about the biggest jump imaginable. It will be a challenging transition unless you just make parallel, non-tele turns. I'm actually surprised the Fey's didn't try to talk you out of them! If you can r...

Re: 22D Axl *Front Cable* Replacement
Quick update on the front cable replacement... I broke the other front cable at the end of last season. With the fresh snow falling here in CO, I was reminded to get my gear together for this season! Rather than using the vise grips to keep the cross tube from spinning, this time I just drilled an ...
