Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

Very nice mood in the pictures! I have only skied shorter daytrips from my grandparents house and from Grova, as well as some short hiking. My grandfather was from Hitra, an island on the coast, while my grandmother was from Selbu, and they settled in Meråker due to work opportunities. The Elkem sme...

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

Nice Randoskier. I hope you get a nice tour. We have finally gotten snow now, after a prolonged period with warmer weather than normal. My grandparents lived in Meråker, in a green house (not a greenhouse) just over 300 meters south of the railway station you will be starting from. My grandfather wo...

Re: The Asnes doggy-ski summary

And for completeness, Finnmark and Breidablikk comes in both wax and waxless versions, both with Skinlock. Breidablikk also comes in a Husky variant where the only difference is the top sheet. They do not show up on the English pages, so here is a Norwegian one: https://www.asnes.com/produkt/breidab...

Re: Åsnes Borge Ousland BC Ski Review

I assume you mean either enough grip and too little glide, or too little grip and enough glide? If you have not yet tried, you could reduce the length/zone where you apply wax, and see if that helps with glide. You are at the upper end of weight for 190 cm length before gear, so should probably have...

Re: Åsnes NOSI 76 Ski Review

It is a bit strange that Åsnes shows both versions on their website. The Touring section on asnes.com also show Rabb 68, so Nosi is a natural expansion of that type of ski. They also have two new touring skis that only shows up on the Norwegian version of the site. The dimensions and weights of both...

Re: Combi boot suggestions for narrow skis?

I have the Fischer RC5 Combi and are happy with them. They are much stiffer and more supportive than the Fischer Control boot, that felt very similar to the Combi Jr. boots my sons have. New models might be different though. Fischer also has RC3 Combi and RC1 Combi, as well as the OTX Adventure, so ...

Re: Leather 3-pin for SB112?

Voile is making ads for and selling both 75 mm and Xplore, and they also reintroduced an older 3-pin binding, called Voile 201 to suit the thinner sole of Alpina Alaska. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuMtk1o5bEo But even underneath a skilled skier on favorable conditions, the Endeavor is en...

Re: Looking for an inbounds ripping ski high 90s waist

Any modern ski will be an upgrade. A wide ski with T2 may not be as much fun on hard/icy snow, but nice on/in looser snow. A ski with rocker and setback will have better float and a shorter effective edge and thus shorter turn radius, but at the cost of stability. I find that waist width is the main...

Notice that Lundhags advice against using the Guide Expedition 75mm with a 3-pin binding:

Re: 75mm bindings on 50mm skis?

Good comments by Capercaillie. You can mount 75mm on any of the skis, but you have to decide if it fits your use case, as you say nothing about what type of skiing you do and where. Our old E99 and E109 had a slightly raised binding mounting area and gave secure feel when I remounted then with Xplor...
