You might also want to think about binding position. Boot centre (and variations, alpine mount) is the forward option which is best for carving, moguls and general resort skiing. There are two standard events, GS and Classic as far as points goes. Otherwise there can be slalom, moguls, etc. The GS is the same as alpine but may have a jump and even be a dual race.
