Re: Åsnes Waxless Skis

Don't need to belabor the point TOO much more but I want to add my suggestion that all Asnes needs to do is extend the waxless pattern to cover the same area as the kicker skins. The pattern itself is fine. The skis are already designed to work with a skin in the longer wax pocket so covering the s...

Re: NEPTUNE

Thank you for posting this. I did not realize the proximity. Thank you Neptune Mountaineering for having played a role in some of my most joyful days in the backcountry in winter. You and your community are in my heart and mind.

Re: My wife’s new skis, Åsnes MT51 waxless-first impressions

[Edit: And Roelant chimed in! Before I even posted this.. but FWIW] Your post reminded me of this thread about the waxless Nansens: https://www.telemarktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2997 @Roelant had this to say: I love the design, stability, predictability and flex pattern of the Nansens. I think t...

Re: New Asnes WL Waxless Skis 2018-2019 Ingstad WL & Nansen WL

I gave my smooth Ingstads to Lilcliffy two years ago... I stick to the WL ones now and couldn't be happier... The Magik Å pattern is amazing, perfect grip and glide even on cold snow... Happiness is a pair of waxless Asnes skis... Hey Johnny can you remind us (me) how much you weigh and which lengt...

Worth watching the video.
The situation with a ski patroller actually accidentally falling into a tree well head first was a wake up call.
Good information.

This particular segment begins in the video at 3:30 and I agree it's probably the most worthwhile part!

Re: Necessity of wax-iron

Hi. I don't have an iron—not even a household, clothes iron—either. But do you have a cast iron pot or frying pan or somesuch? On an earlier waxing thread someone mentioned how, if you DO have a clothes iron but don't want to ruin it foreverafter for clothes, you can use a sheet of aluminum foil bet...

Emerging from the lurk

Hi. I've been lurking on the forums for a while and appreciating all the info and wondering how I could participate and contribute. I guess I've been waiting until I had something useful to say. But first! Before any of that "useful" stuff. This is me introducing myself. Other than taking a few alpi...
