Re: What do you carry in day packs? Backcountry XCd
About 8 beers hopefully not over 6%. 5-8 joints. Extra layers for added warmth. Some meat to throw on the fire. Climbing wax, skins, knife, water bottle which I usually use to clean cooking pan or dump out. Goggles are always in my pack as well as sun glasses. Some rope and small adjustable wrench.

Re: Fischer E-99 getting a makeover/name change?
Seems like Nordic rocker fights or contradicts double camber. Waiting for more ideal powder days to tell for sure. Definitely prefer climbing wax over fish scales or skins, although both have their place.

Re: Fischer E-99 getting a makeover/name change?
Last year or so I bought the new E-99 ultra light Fisher skis. Leather boots (alico slippers) and Super rottafella bindings. Not sure yet about the damn "nordic rocker" Makes breaking a trail awful unless you use the EZ skin. It was cheaper than the crown. Think I should have spent the $ and gotten ...

Re: Excursion 88 to Ingstad
Rossignol's BC line up are great for Steep stuf and meadow skipping. I have a BC-90 and a Newish BC-110. I feel the 110 is as heavy as my Leather boot (andrew's North Rim) can handle. The Asnes seem to be more $$

Re: Kick Skins over Kick Wax
Good to know. I have brand new Kicker skins. Usually by the time I'm slipping bad enough then most wax is worn off or smoothed out anyway.

No need for a scrapper. Just use your other skis edge to scrape off. Unless things are going badly I hardly ever scrap of wax. Instead add another layer of appropriate wax. If it's above 27 degrees don't even bother with wax. I hate using Red!

Re: "Stupid" Waxing Question
Love climbing wax but after about 25 degrees or so fish scales really excel. I’m ok with giving up a little speed for getting me up to the goods. Been years since I’ve had skins but thinking I’ll get some soon. Definitely enjoy a traversing up trail vs going straight up.

Re: Sbounds...leathers
Is there anyone left out there ripping tele turns on skinny double chamber skis. If not your missing out big time. Take off the training wheels folks and try some old school Nordic telemark!! For the record my E-99's are 185's This is a huge difference from the 205's or 210's that I grew up skiing.

Re: Sbounds...leathers
Drinking, smoking, and playing golf hasn't kept my conditioning up. Can't wait to start waxing up our favorite zones. A few short months and skis will be sliding again!!
