Re: Lundhags Boots
Thanks Ox, I think the Guide fits the bill for me, more interested in long distance touring comfort. I haven't toured with the Expeditions so I can't actually say what they're like. The comfort of both is going to be the same down at the business end where your feeties are, and there's nothing wron...

Re: Lundhags Boots
I have the exact same question. I have been skiing the Alpina Alaska for three or four seasons and they have increasingly pinched my toes in the toe-box (they are sized one-up from my normal boot size). This season I will to switch to another NNN BC boot, one with more room in the toe-box, but I wa...

Re: Lundhags Boots
Why are Lundhags and Alfa boots so expensive? Lundhags are not made in Sweden anymore, they are made in low-wage Portugal. Alfa is not made in Norway anymore it is made in low-wage Romania. Ditto Asnes- made in low-wage Czechia not Norway. Devold? not Norway but Lithuania. All these companies have ...

Re: Steel edge or not to steel edge? And other pulk sled snow stuff
Ive always ski'd with my dog Gale. I always used Åsnes Breidablikk, 180 waxless (nnnbc). I haul a pulk on rods with her pulling me (she doesn't have enough umpf to get the pulk uphills alone). The sled is about 50lbs of cold weather gear, plus food and fuel. So let's say the sled is 75 lbs (34kg) f...

Re: Viability of Waxable Skis
For the Kongsvolds, I'd immediately buy some X-Skins... the narrowest mohair ones or a pair of the Race ones and a pair for pulking and climbing. They love those conditions! At their best, they're almost indistinguishable from wax, and what you lose to friction (which isn't much around freezing, esp...

Jumped in at 30 min mark and watched a little. Are his racist generalities a theme or did I watch the wrong 3 minutes? No. he's a fascist, doing fascist things. They're called 'Nazbols'. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Bolshevism They really ran with the whole national 'socialist' thing as f...

Re: Lundhags Boots
The 47 Lundhag Guide BC fits me very well, good heel pocket, lots of room in the toe-box, but my toes are just brushing against the end. @Musk Ox (who's fault this all is) assured me my feet would settle in and he is correct, at first I feel like I'm at the end but soon afterwards the boot fits gre...

Re: What Happened???
I think everyone should be able to read whatever they want, and all that, and I'm kiiiind of allergic to discussing politics on the internet, but Aleksandr Dugin is one of the most awful people living. He's an actual, literal, genuine fascist who wants a hyper-nationalist Slavic empire (literally......
