Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2020-2021!)
But again, paradoxically, the ridiculous low-rise tips on all Voile skis makes them quite unsuited for powder / BC use... (I can't believe they are still doing this!!!) I wish I had known this before I ski-toured hundreds of days in powder on Voile skis... Oh wait -- I didn't have any problems tour...

Re: Import Duty from EU to USA?
I've ordered misc. sports equipment from both UK and France numerous times over the last 20 or so years, and I've paid a duty a couple of time many years ago. My understanding is that the personal exemption in the US went up to $800 in 2016; previously, the exemption was $200. (This info comes from ...

Re: 3 Sets of Tele bindings, 22Designs Hammerhead, Vice and 7TM Power Tour
Melanie: If you don't get a response from danb, I have a pair of 7tm Power Tours in very good shape that I can send you for cheap. I also have regular 7tm bindings, if you don't need the tour function.
Cheers,
Andy
P.S. Here's a photo of the regular 7tm bindings that I have:

Re: Just impulse bought new skis on sale, what do you think of the set up?
Anywho, my first impressions are, "wow these things are BEEFY". And compared to my T2s are super rigid. My T2s are so mushy and flexible. Is the plastic made to be thicker or harder with the T1s or its it more a factor of age and being broken in? Im curious to see how they perform in comparison. I'...

Re: The Finest Leathers: Nordic Norm 75mm Backcountry/Telemark Boots
My newest acquisition (and probably the last one for now, until I get some serious use out of my current boot lineup): IMG_20200618_211656t.jpg Asolo Extreme Racers. ...I think they are gorgeous, in their own way with the 4 buckles. Roelant, I also think those are gorgeous. If you decide they are t...

There's still some decent snow in Colorado, but you will need to hike a little bit.

I haven't skied the Kore 99, but it sounds like a great all-mountain ski. Given your size (noted from a previous post that you're 6'2" 220), the 189 should work out fine -- although, as you note, you may have to adapt your style to ski them, since you were previously skiing 176 Sidestashes. You shou...

Re: Which binding for a slalom ski?
163cm seems a bit short for your height -- what do you weigh? I am 183cm and 84kg, and I would probably go for the length around 178cm -- and I tend to ski on a length shorter than some. If you're light for your height, it might work out fine. Then again, I just realized that one of my favorite firm...
