Re: Let’s talk undies!!!
I tend to assume I won't be changing legwear during the day, so I check the temperature before hand and decide on my layers. I normally ski in pants with venting on the legs (typically these: https://www.revolutionrace.no/herre/bukser/friluftsbukser-turbukser/rvrc-gp-pro-rescue-pants-men?Color=9502 ...

Re: When do skis go on sale?
I was speaking to the Rossignol rep here in Norway a couple of weeks ago, he told me that for alpine equipment pretty much all the available stock has been presold to retailers and there won't be much (if anything) available for reordering this winter. Same goes for XC gear. It'll likely be the same...

Re: ‘Adventure’ xc racing events
Now the question of what type of ski/binding for something like this? Is my nnn bc enough? Im horrible at descending on my current skis. Not sure about that event in particular, but you could download the gpx file and have a look at the course profile in something like ridewithgps.com . That might ...

Re: ‘Adventure’ xc racing events
Chris, you could try searching https://bikepacking.com/events/category/bikepacking-races/ for fatbike races - a lot of these will also have ski and foot categories, I know the Arrowhead 135 and Tuscobia Winter Ultra do. Typically they will all follow the same course but set off at different times. M...

Yes, here in Norway littering is a big no-no. Occasionally there will be the odd beer can or Kvik Lunsj™ wrapper on the ground but in general it's very clean. For her to go to another country and show such a lack of respect for the locals is pretty classless imo.

Re: breathable shell jacket? is there one that lets sweat out but keeps you dry
Here's some commentts about it on some bushcraft site: https://bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/anyone-own-a-s%C3%A4rm%C3%A4-tst-woolshell-jacket.235441/ "It has very little insulation properties though I found as it’s not a thick material and it lets wind through quite easily so you’ll definitely ne...

Re: breathable shell jacket? is there one that lets sweat out but keeps you dry
By the way, I also have a two-ply OR Mountain Cap. I like it too because its bomber windproof and covers my ears and protects my eyes from the sun. Its relatively warm because its windproof. Problem is, I feel kinda icky in it sometimes because it just doesnt breathe that well. A good wool beanie i...

Re: breathable shell jacket? is there one that lets sweat out but keeps you dry
Leo, how tall are you and what size do you wear for the Helikon? I can order EU M/ US L or just plain L, so I'm not sure how to size this item. Sellers don't differentiate which sizes they are are advertising, either EU or US. Even the Helikon website is not quite clear in how they are selling them...

Re: breathable shell jacket? is there one that lets sweat out but keeps you dry
I never wear waterproof jackets for skiing, I've never found any that are breathable enough. For very cold conditions, I wear a polycotton anorak (either a Fjallraven or one of these which is lighter weight: https://www.helikon-tex.com/en_eur/ku-wdn-dc-woodsman-anorak-jacket.html . As long as the sn...
