Re: Mounting 3 pin on used Ultravector?
The short answer is that there "shouldn't" be a problem. I just compared the templates for 22D and 3 Pin. The front, center hole for a 3 pin will be in the clear, no doubt. The 2 back holes will most likely fit comfortably between the rear most and middle existing holes. Not a big deal to scoot the ...

Re: Backpack for longer tours?
I'm 5'6" and also prefer a short torso pack. I picked this one up a few years ago and I think it checks all of your boxes. It's the only pack that I've found that I'm happy with, been through a few... Although marketed as a women's pack, it's available in a nice gender neutral blue. I think the pack...

Re: Xplore binding mounting point for Epochs
I'd probably approach this from a boot center perspective. In other words, where is the boot center if mounted 3 pin with pins on rec? Then, using boot center as your starting point, you can see where the Explore pins would wind up. This of course would require having boots of both systems and of th...

Re: Excursion/T4 dilemma
Thanks jalp, that's a solid recommendation; the Pro Tour is one of the liners I was considering. Did you go with Intuition's method (heated dry rice in a sock!), or did you bake 'em? I've done the rice method in the past with good results but this time I went to a boot fitter. Sure, that cost me a ...

Re: Excursion/T4 dilemma
phoenix I just went through the same thing with my Excursions. Wound up going with a pair of high volume Intuition Pro Tour liners. Yes, ridiculously tall for the shell but that doesn't bother me much. The fitting process was pretty painful and had me doubting the outcome but, they worked perfectly...

Re: Ski Binding Placement?
They're a lot of ski for touring, I think they weighed around 9 pounds a pair. That mass contributed to them being good crud busters, and solid on hardpack. They carried speed well. I liked 'em in powder, too. I think the Instinx were the women's version of the Work's; a little lighter and maybe a ...

Re: Screw Size for K2 Skis' Factory Inserts?
Inserts on K2s are M5 (5mm) with 0.8 thread pitch, correct? The Targas are from G3 which is in Vancouver, but K2 is in Seattle, so there's an off chance they're #10-32 (inch size). Reason: https://telemarktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5581&p=56889 Here's a source for M5-0.8 pozi screws in many lengt...

Re: Backcountry Helmet
I've been pretty happy with this G3 helmet:

Great ventilation and super light compared to my old brain bucket.

Re: Objective BC skin tail affixion method?
@mikesee They are probably only compatible with the Pomoca tail straps unfortunately.
I also put a little shoe goo in the hooks for a bit more friction. That alone may well make a difference with your current hooks.

Re: Objective BC skin tail affixion method?
Whaddya got? The tips on the OB/BC's have that perfect little slot, but the tails are rounded and smooth and no matter what I do my tail hook/loop wants to slip off. What's your solution? I have the same issue with my V6s. I switched to a Pomoca twin tip tail hook. It's an improvement over the regu...
