Re: Meidjos on Altai Koms
Thanks for your reply,John. I’d use my 3 buckle Scott Voodoos. Heavier than I would like but I can live with that for a few hours locally, or the odd day out in the Lakes or Snowdonia. When I first clipped into the Meidjos I thought that they would be great with some light weight boots, like those u...

Meidjos on Altai Koms
Has anyone tried this combination? Are there any reasons why it wouldn’t work? I’m tempted by the shortest size, which I believe are 150 cm, as these would be the easiest to carry on a rucksack but I guess that there would be disadvantages to skiing something so short. Would any such disadvantages b...

Re: Meidjo and Rabb
Thanks for all the replies. I’m really pursuing the ‘sunk costs’ fallacy, in that I’m trying to find a good use for my meidjos, rather than the best match for Rabbs I don’t have. As DG99 says, Asnes advertise the Rabbs as suitable for use with AT bindings, so I thought that might apply to tech toe t...

Meidjo and Rabb
Has anyone tried mounting meidjo bindings on Asnes Rabb skis? I have some M2.1 bindings currently sitting on some Sky HD planks. I really liked the meidjos but find them fiddly to put on, so I’ve switched to Freerides for resort use. Most of my non resort skiing is on 3 pins and leather boots but I ...

Anyone know what happened to NordX?
I was idling away my life one morning and I came across an entertaining ski-racing format in which competitors raced a course similar to ski X , but including a steep uphill section, on cross-country skis. Quite exciting, as you might imagine, and some impressive demonstrations of the downhill capac...

Re: The Rockpile last week- pics
Where were you skiing? Your stance looks great to me and your excursion seemed to vary between the entertaining and the 'character building'. Thanks for the pictures

Re: Traverse 78
Thanks for all the replies and the good, well reasoned, advice. I think I'll go for the Traverse 78s if the deal is still good. They sound as if they'll be at least as good as the Morrottos on both K&G and turning and the kicker skins plus waxless should be versatile for UK conditions- snow's all go...

Re: Traverse 78
Thanks Wooderson, useful to hear from somebody who has both the E99s and the Traverses and interesting to learn about skiing in the woods of NE America. You must have some bottle, if you are doing linked turns on single-track through the trees! I spent a couple of winters shuffling around on skis in...
