Re: Leather Boot Stretching Question --
Shoe repair shops have mechanical stretchers that work really well. Much better than the ones a consumer can buy. If the leather is old an dried out it may be vulnerable to cracking/tearing. I like Obenaufs leather oil to revitalize dried out leather.

Re: Scarpa F1 with Transit Questions
1. Are the F1 races or standard F1's preferred for touring and turns? F1 races don’t have a toungue so walk better but less support down 2. How well do the F1's ski transits work together? Don’t know 3. How do the F1's compare to a T2 type boot? Depends on which T2 T2X probably more support, older T...

Re: Skiing Bigger Descents in the XCD Style
I skied off Shasta with Asolo extremes and 70ish underfoot skis a long time ago. In good snow no problem. In bad snow sufferage. But it was all we knew at the time. Couldn’t see doing it again but now I’m 25 years older. I moved on to Garmont Guidas(T4sh), Riva 2s, and Voile MT surfs and pretty much...

Re: old wool pants for skiing
I skied for years in a pair of wool pants. This was in. Utah so snow was dry. Only downside was if it was extremely windy they didn’t block enough wind. They were a smooth outside so shed snow well. Aslo if you were resort skiing on a cold day and were skiing fast, sometimes the private parts got ch...

.Thanks for info, very thorough!
I’m sure the Free would be more to my liking, but there is a smoking deal I saw on a Skaget, tough call.

Re: Alfa Skaget Perform review 2021->
Does the Skaget have a reinforcing in the upper? IE Asolo Extreme-sh versa Alpina Alaska? Or is it just stiffer leather than the Alaska?

Re: PSA: milsurp Scarpa T4s
I just skied some Excursions last season and was very impressed with them compared to T4s. They are not as tall or stiff as T4s and are lighter. My Excursions are an early version from the 90s if that matters. The T4s stiffness gives you more power, but I think the softer smoother flex of the Excur...
