Re: ski recommendation
Do you think this warranty against tele is a leftover policy from when there was no titanal binding plate? I'm thinking about mounting some Meidjos on the Camox Freebird. That's a really good point. I do feel pretty good about them, knowing there's that titanal binding plate in there. I like the sk...

Re: first NTN thoughts- 22 Designs Lynx
I had the same issue with extreme activity with my new Lynx this year as well. I think the fiberglass plates needed some time to soften up. After one or two days of resort skiing, they're waaaay better. I used to ski on O1 bindings, and I'd say they're now a bit stiffer on pin #1 and no spacers, but...

Re: ski recommendation
My understanding is that not all skis can have tele bindings mounted. Black-crow skis for one can’t. Their warranty doesn’t cover damage to Freebird skis from using telemark bindings. I actually have the Black Crow's Camox Freebird with the Lynx and TX Pros. Didn't notice the warning until after I ...

Re: Breaking in new leather boots
My boots came with a felt insole, putting that in seemed to take care of the volume problem. I was planning on skiing them before inserting those insoles, but your post had me nix that idea. I didn't want to give the leather a chance to start breaking wrong. My boots did come with the felt insoles,...

Re: Breaking in new leather boots
Lilcliffy, I've heard great things about the Zamberlan Hydrobloc - I'll be picking up some when I'm back in the States over the holidays. I have some other oil/wax based stuff that should soften the leather up for now, but I think using the Zamberlan stuff long term is the way to go. SanJuanSam, I'm...

Re: Breaking in new leather boots
Mugglesport, that's basically what I've decided to go with. Putting lots of leather conditioner on, and wearing them around the house. But putting even more on and letting it sit for a while is a good idea. Not sure I'm up for walking around in wet boots for hours though... at that point they might ...

Re: Breaking in new leather boots
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and all the helpful replies! The boots seem to fit fairly well - they are a 10 UK size, and I wear a 10.5 US, 44 EU, 28.5 mondo, but as you all say fit seems to be extra important with leather boots. And the stiffness and rubber rand probably aren't helping eithe...

Breaking in new leather boots
Reading through this forum convinced me to buy some of these Alico March leather boots for super cheap, some Fischer waxless skis, and get into a bit more XCD - until now I've been exclusively focused on downhill-oriented touring, but now the fiancée is learning to ski and tour, so we're sticking wi...
